As you progress through Vermintide 2, you’ll be able to unlock Blacksmithing Patterns for crafting. Each of your weapons and also another tab for Trinkets, Necklaces, and Charms. Weapons are only unlocked per character. You can craft white items and upgrade them as you see fit. However, upgrading a pre-existing weapon does not increase its Power Level. With a new character, you’ll not have many Blacksmithing Patterns so they won’t offer much use. Once you’ve hit around 200 Power, you will have enough Blacksmithing Patterns to craft anything you like.

Right from the start, the Forge is available to you in the Home Base with some unique features not in the first iteration of Warhammer Vermintide. You can use the Forge to scrap items that you find in missions and use it to salvage other weapons to craft with. Another bonus feature in the Vermintide 2 crafting system is the ability to reroll properties and upgrade weapons.

Crafting Tips and Tricks

First on the crafting menu is Salvage Items. Here you can trade any items you’ve looted in the Vermintide world and salvage their parts to be used in crafting other items. There are many unique items in Vermintide 2, some of which can only be acquired through crafting using salvaged items from certain locations. Scrap, however, is the most extensive part you’ll be needing and there’s always a demand. Other parts are essentially bonuses, so salvage any items you find.

Equipment Properties can be re-rolled multiple times to get the properties you desire. This is not recommended in most circumstances as this is a huge waste of resources. Equipment traits can also be re-rolled but these are rare to obtain so use them wisely. Equipment re-rolls will always have a beneficial outcome though so don’t fear of a bad re-roll.

Crafting in Vermintide 2 allows you to upgrade your weapon throughout the game as you progress and fight tougher enemies. Find a weapon you like and upgrade it throughout the game to ensure you can survive the hordes of enemies.

Another great crafting feature in Vermintide 2 is Illusions, which is essentially weapon skins. Illusions are not permanent and can be extracted from weapons. These can then be applied to better weapons throughout the game. This is purely cosmetic and has no effect on gameplay. Illusions can be applied at the Forge. Open the crafting window and jump to Extract Illusions, each Extraction costs 20 Scrap.
