It’s safe to say CD Projekt Red is definitely a fan favorite as one of the bigger game developers. They’re renown for always sculpting their games based on fan feedback and problems. CD Projekt Red claims that the option to complete Cyberpunk 2077 without killing someone was thanks to the fans feedback.
In a recent interview with Pawel Sasko, lead quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077. He explains the weapon choices in the game and that every mission has a nonlethal option.
“I think I can say everything. There’s one thing: only weapons that are lethal by definition, so let’s say you shoot someone with a bazooka in his face. You shoot his head off. That’s typically lethal.”

CD Projekt Red handed out survey cards at E3 2018 with multiple ideas for Cyberpunk 2077. The anti-kill decision was widely voted on by fans which were the foundation of the non-lethal option playstyle.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to cause world-wide hibernation November 2020 when it releases.
