Bethesda, Home of the prominent Elder Scrolls series and many other games we’ve fallen in love with such as Fallout and Wolfenstein. Have hinted that two upcoming future projects are underway that will be huge undertakings comparable in scope to their big hits, Skyrim and Fallout 4.
On YouTube’s live stream at E3, Todd Howard explains that Bethesda is working on three huge projects, Elder Scrolls 6 being one of them, and likely the last to be completed.
“Elder Scrolls 6 is kind of like the elephant in the room, always, when we talk about anything,” Howard explained, “and you know, I think it’s good in these moments to tell our fans yes, of course, we are working on it – it’s something we love – but it is… you know, I have to be careful what I say, it’s a very long way off.
Pete Hines, Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing at Bethesda has confirmed with IGN that this is the case. Hines also confirmed what many Elder Scrolls fans we’re afraid of, “You’re not getting an Elder Scrolls 6 for many years”.
When Todd Howard was asked what the other two projects might actually be, he was hesitant and explained he’d like the time frame between the projects announcement and release date short, much like Fallout 4 was.
“I don’t want to say yet, but people should know by now that the gap between hearing about it and it coming out, I like that to be really short.” Howard explains, “They’re all a ways off, and we’ll talk about it when we talk about it.”
What do you think could be Bethesda’s upcoming projects?
