Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be the biggest project BioWare has ever undertaken.

The developers are aiming to create every discoverable area as unique and memorable as possible, even if the planet ends up not being in the main story.

Side missions will include loyalty missions, which was featured in Mass Effect 2. Completely optional, these missions offer the player a chance to get to know his companions a little better.

In an interview with Game Informer, Bioware’s producer Mike Gamble stated, “This is the biggest we’ve ever gone, in terms of the number of pieces of content. There are combat-related encounters, puzzle-related encounters, narrative-related encounters, and a lot of things will happen that add more depth to the critical path.”

To give the gameplay a little more depth, enemy factions can be seen throughout the world fighting each other. These intense battles are completely optional, sit back and watch the enemy destroy each other or join in and clean them out yourselves to reap the rewards.

Mass Effect: Andromeda super-bosses

Each planet will also contain their own super-bosses you can encounter on exploration missions for glorious loot. However, you’ll need some serious upgrades and tough companions to make it out alive, so make sure you’re prepared to face them.

An official release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda is yet to be announced, but we’re expecting it sometime March 2017.
