Henry Cavill, widely known for his roles in The Witcher and Man of Steel, and of course, gaming. Has expressed interest in joining a potential live-action adaptation of Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption. The actor, a self-proclaimed gamer and fan of story-driven titles, hinted at his enthusiasm during a recent interview when asked about his dream video game adaptation.
When asked what game he’d love to see turned into a TV show, Cavill didn’t hesitate: Red Dead.
“I’ve been diving back into it lately,” he said. “It’s just such a rich world — I can’t help but picture it on screen.”
It’s not the first time Cavill’s brought attention to a game adaptation. His passion for gaming famously landed him the role of Geralt of Rivia, and fans are now wondering if he’s quietly manifesting his next big move.
Fans, of course, are already imagining him as Arthur Morgan — rough voice, beard, muddy boots and all. Some even suggest a more intense take on John Marston. Either way, Cavill seems like a natural fit for the gritty, emotional world of Red Dead Redemption.
There’s no official Red Dead series in the works (at least not yet), but with the massive success of other video game adaptations like The Last of Us and Fallout, it wouldn’t be surprising if someone in Hollywood is already taking notes.
So while there’s no confirmation, there’s definitely buzz. And knowing Cavill’s track record of turning fan dreams into reality, it’s not a bad idea to start hoping.
Because honestly — who wouldn’t want to see Henry Cavill ride into town?
