Witcher 3 Novigrad Quests - Suspicious Shakedown, Karmic Justice, Drunken Rabble, The Flame of Hatred Witch Hunter Raids Racist of Novigrad.

Witcher 3 is massive in both size and content. You’ll find it hard to run out of tasks to keep you hooked even after you’re done with the main questline. Secondary quests are found everywhere throughout the world. They can be triggered in several ways – reading an Area Noticeboard, examining certain locations or even just by walking down the street.

Suspicious Shakedown

Location: Gate of the Hierarch

Head over to the south of Gate of the Hierarch and you’ll come across a small group of bandits harassing a merchant.

You can either cut down all the bandits in the area or use Axii (level 2 needed) to make yourself a bit more convincing. Whatever you decide, speak with the merchant afterward to conclude the suspicious shakedown quest.


Karmic Justice

Location: Tretogor Gate

Head to the alleyway between Tretogor and Southern Gate during night time and you’ll come across a couple of Scoia’tael beating up a merchant. It’s your choice to either free the merchant or let them beat him up. However, if you help the merchant, you’ll receive some Crowns as a reward. Later on, this merchant will be in the city selling goods, but there’s nothing worthwhile that you can’t purchase elsewhere.


Message from an Old Friend

Location: Hierarch Square

Head inside Books and Scrolls in the northern part of Hierarch Square and speak with Marcus. After you speak with him, you can either loot all his books or the one that the owner mentioned. And that’s it, all you need to do to complete this simple message from an old friend quest.


Drunken Rabble

Location: The Golden Sturgeon

While roaming in Novigrad’s poorer areas, you’ll come across some drunkards who will demand some of your coins. If you refuse them, they’ll get mad and a fistfight begins. Defeat them to complete the drunken rabble quest. If somehow they manage to defeat you, you’ll wake up near a gutter with a small amount of your coin missing.


The Flame of Hatred

Location: Hierarch Square

Roaming Hierarch Square you’ll come across a Preacher mouthing off about witchers. Approach and speak with the Preacher of the Eternal Fire. At this point, you can either mock the man and ask him to leave the city or leave him be. If you, however, decide to threaten him; his hired mob will confront you later down the road. If this happens, do what Witchers do best and slay them down to conclude the flame of hatred quest.


Witch Hunter Raids

Location: Glory Gate

Walking towards Glory Gate, you’ll come across Remi Villeroy’s house and two Witch Hunters banging on his door. You need to intervene and help the Mage defeat the two Witch Hunters, who then rewards you for your troubles – the witch hunter raids quest then concludes.


Racist of Novigrad (I and II)

Location: Novigrad

Head over to North of Portside Gate to find a female elf being harassed by a group of bandits. You can either side with bandits or save the female elf. After saving the female elf, head over to Southeast of Tretogor Gate and you’ll come across another elf about to take a beating. Once again you can either save the elf or be on your way.


The Dwarven Document Dilemma

Location: Seven Cats Inn

Speak with Rostan Muggs located near Tretogor and agree to help him get his documents back. Using your Witcher’s Sense to follow the trail down the hill you’ll end up at the Seven Cats Inn. Once you’re inside, speak with Gerd and choose between using your Axii Sign, playing a round of Gwent, or engage in a Fistfight. Once you’ve acquired the desired paperwork, head back to Muggs and conclude the dwarven document dilemma quest.


Black Pearl

Location: The Golden Sturgeon

To start this quest, you need to speak with the soldier named Nidas near the Golden Sturgeon. Once you agree to help him, meet him near Arinbjorn in Skellige. After you meet up with the man, follow him to find the Black Pearl he’s after. Once there you need to dive down into the water and use your Witcher’s Senses to acquire the Black Pearl. After you’ve acquired the pearl, head back to the shore and you’ll find Nidas being attacked by Drowners. After you save him, meet the man at the Golden Sturgeon to receive your reward.


A Feast for Crows

Location: Gate of the Hierarch

Head to the small stone bridge north of the Gate of Hierarch. Once there, use your Witcher’s Senses to follow the trail. You’ll eventually reach a corpse, examine it and loot the key. Use your Witcher’s Senses once again to follow the trail of the murderer into a wooden hut. Once you head inside, you can either leave the bandits or slay them all followed by using the key on a chest to find the Hidden Treasure. A Feast for Crows will then be complete.


Hey, you wanna loot at my stuff?

Location: Hierarch Square

Head to the Northwest Harbor and speak with a Halfling Merchant in the area. Once the Witch Hunter patrol arrives, you can either uncover the true identity of the Halfling Merchant or lie to them. If you choose to lie, use your Witcher Senses to track down the merchant and speak with him to conclude the quest – the merchant will only become available if you don’t reveal him!


Strumpet in Distress

Location: Novigrad Docks

Go to the Novigrad docks, once there you’ll notice a woman being threatened by a hooded man. Speak to the woman and she will tell you that she can handle herself. You can either use your Axii sign (Level 2) on the hooded man, threaten him normally, or leave as the woman said. Any option you choose ends up revealing that the man was acting with the strumpet and you killed his mood, the prostitute ends up not getting paid.


Warehouse of Woe

Location: Portside Warehouse

Head to the Portside Warehouse (Warehouse of woe) in the Harborside District and you’ll come across two traders blaming each other for having a monster inside the warehouse. Agree to slay the monster and head inside to find a Nekker. Once you slay the monster, use your Witcher Senses around you to uncover that the Dwarf brought in the monster. You can choose to either tell the merchants or remain quiet and just accept your reward.


A Walk on the Waterfront

Location: Novigrad Docks

On the western side of south docks in Novigrad, you’ll come across a nobleman threatened by a couple of bandits. You need to act quickly and intervene before they gut him out. Once you’ve killed the bandits, agree to escort the nobleman to his destination. A little further down the road, you’ll be attacked again throughout the quest, Once you arrive at the destination the nobleman meets with his trader, you’ll then have a little choice to make. Doing so will earn you a reward and conclude the walk on the waterfront quest.


Never Trust Children

Location: Hierarch Square

You’ll come across a crying child outside Triss’ Hideout. If you try to speak with him, he’ll just run away. Follow the boy and you’ll end up running into a trap! he’ll call out to 4 bandits to ambush you. Unfortunately, for the bandits, the fight shouldn’t be too hard for you. Slay all the bandits to conclude the quest. And yes I know what you’re thinking but no, you won’t find the boy anywhere.

The Nobleman Statuette

Location: Novigrad Merchant

Speak with the merchant in front of Gildorf Square Noticeboard to start this quest. He will persuade you to buy a collection of statuette artifacts belonging to a Mage named Aeramas. You need to buy the item to proceed through the quest. After acquiring the item, Go see Triss in her hideout and ask her to analyze the artifact, Once complete the nobleman statuette quest will end.


The Soldier Statuette

Location: Caesar’s House

While playing Secondary Quest: A Dangerous Game, Caesar Bilzen will hand you over a strange Jade Figurine statuette which you need to take to Triss. After acquiring the item, Go see Triss in her hideout and ask her to analyze the artifact. Once complete, the soldier statuette quest will end.


Of Dairy and Darkness

Location: Novigrad Merchant & Abandoned Manor

Start this quest from the same merchant that sells you the artifact for The Nobleman Statuette quest, located in front of Gildorf Square Noticeboard. He will try to persuade you to buy the collection of artifacts belonging to a Mage named Aeramas, you need to buy all the items to proceed through the quest. Head over to Aeramas’s Abandoned Manor and search the area using your Witcher Senses, examine the magical circle and head inside the portal. Once you arrive in the dungeon, climb the staircase and enter another portal. Swim through the flooded chamber and use your Witcher Senses to reach Aeramas’s Laboratory and loot everything inside. Locate the statue on Aeramas’s Desk to conjure up yet another portal and go through it to reach the Last Chamber. Finally, use your Igni Sign to interact with a pyramid on the right-hand side and then use your Eye of Nehaleni to uncover a similar pyramid on its opposite side. Loot the treasure and teleport back to land to conclude of diary and darkness quest.


Fencing Lessons

Location: Var Attre Residence, Seven Cats Inn, Tretogor Gate

Head over to Guard Captain at the Var Attre Residence and meet up with Rosa near the Temple Bridge. Find and defeat Rosa after which she will disappear. Use your Witcher Senses to locate her again near the Seven Cats Inn and you’ll see her being harassed by two drunkards. At this point, you can either use Axii, your sword, or coin which ultimately will all end up sending off the drunkards and conclude the fencing lessons quest.


Hidden Messages of the Nilfgaardian Kind

Location: Hierarch Square, Crippled Kate’s

Head northeast from the Kingfisher Inn and you’ll come across a couple of strange men examining an area. Once the men run away, use your Witcher Senses to locate a loose brick and read the note hidden inside. After reading the note, head to next objective area in Crippled Kate’s. Use your Witcher Senses to locate a couple of prizes scattered in this area and reach the final objective area to obtain some goodies off a corpse in a dungeon to conclude the hidden messages of the nilfgaardian kind quest.


A Barnful of Trouble

Location: Carsten

Head near the barricaded windmill and agree to help the nearby peasants by getting rid of some Ghouls roaming inside the structure. After slaying all the Ghouls inside, you can examine the area to reveal that some peasants murdered a couple bandits a few days back. It’s completely up to you whether you wish to reveal this or not, either way, you’ll receive your payment and conclude the barnful of trouble quest.


Empty Coop

Location: Yanina’s Cottage

Head just east of Honeyfill Meadworks and look around for a rambling old woman. Offer to help her, and use your Witcher Senses to follow the tracks to their final destination. Once there speak to the children then return to the old woman and convince her that the children should come and live with her, doing so will conclude the empty coop quest.


Little Red

Location: Yantra

Head to Yantra, a small village between two lakes and to the north east of Novigrad. Around noon you’ll see a bunch of villagers gathered at one end of the village having a meeting. Ask them what troubles them, they’ll tell you they’re having bandit trouble with a girl named Little Red. Agree to help them and head to the center of the village and Meditate til dusk. Little Red will appear and you can choose to either stand down or tell her to get away from the innocent villagers. She will then transform into a werewolf and you’ll have to slay her along with her bandit companions to conclude the secondary quest.


Novigrad Hospitality

Location: Beanston

To start this secondary quest you need to speak with Victor and Gascogne on the road between Beanston and Chateau Sarrasin. You’ll get to a little drinking and eventually you’ll pass out waking up to find out that they have taken all your equipment. Use your Witcher Senses to track them down and get revenge, punish them by robbing them of their clothes to conclude the Novigrad Hospitality quest.


Spooked Mare

Location: Crossroads

Head to the riverside just north of Crossroads and speak with a man whose horse had run off. Agree to help the poor man and use your Witcher Senses to track down the horse’s hoofprints which will eventually lead you to a group of Scoia’tael. After speaking with the Scoia’tael Commander, you can choose to either start a fight or pay 100 Crowns to buy the horse from him. Once you’ve retrieved the horse, use your Axii Sign to calm it down and return it to its owner.


Strangers in the Night

Location: Carsten

Head west out of Carsten, cross a small bridge and head north. You’ll come across a small campsite with some people having a conversation. Join in, tell them your name, and then ask if there’s any news. a fight will break out. Suddenly the conversation turns to accusations, and a brawl will break out. Pick whatever side you choose but either way, you’ll be rewarded with a diagram.


A Warm Welcome

Location: Dragonslayer’s Grotto

On the road southwest of Wheatfield, you’ll come across a fight between some Redanian Soldiers and refugees. After the dialogue, you can either pay the guards 100 Crowns to let the refugee pass, use Axii Sign (Level 2), kill the guards or just leave the refugees to sort it out themselves. If you provide them with help, you’ll be rewarded with a location of a treasure trove near Downwarren.
