Rust is making a comeback in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare

The new Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare isn’t a straight-up sequel to the previous Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. In fact, its a complete reboot of the game. While being a completely revamped game with the same title. We can still expect to see many of our old favorites returning to the new Modern Warfare game. Including the famous Captain Price, who’s featured in the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare trailer.

There have been rumors of many other throwbacks returning. Activision and Infinity ward are keeping a tight lid on the details, however. But in this day and age, secrets don’t stay so secret for long in the gaming industry. Not with all the early access and data miners jumping at any hint of hidden details.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare: Rust

One such discovery reveals multiple references to the well-known Rust map. The incredibly popular map from the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2 game. That player battled it out on for stakes and of course bragging rights. Though unlikely, these references could very well be simply leftover code from testing.

It’d be surprising if Rust didn’t actually make an appearance in the next Call Of Duty. Ask any die-hard Call Of Duty fan and they’ll tell you Rust is easily one of the most renown maps of the franchise.
