GTA VI Tokyo in mind for Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto

Developers Rockstar also came close to making Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo, according to the same report – though the new game is almost certainly going to be set in the US. Grand Theft Auto 6 is on its way, according to a report.

Rumors say it could possibly be GTA VI Tokyo due to an earlier interest in a GTA in Tokyo.

Developers Rockstar has begun work on the follow-up to GTA 5, which was released in 2013 and is by many measures the most successful and expensive game in history, according to a report from TechRadar.

Do you want GTA VI Tokyo OR GTA VI : US

“The company hasn’t yet settled on a location and it isn’t clear exactly when the new game will be released. It might not be released for some years yet – GTA V came five years after its predecessor.

The game is unlikely to be set outside of the US, according to the same report.

It suggested that the developers had come very close to releasing a Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo. Around the time of Grand Theft Auto 3, it had scoped out the location – making reference trips to the city and planning a game – but details including the city’s road system were said to be too complicated.”

The company has also realised that it would be difficult to take the games outside of the US, according to TechRadar. Doing so would mean changing much of the series’ recurring details – such as brands and cars – and so the new game is likely to stay in the US.

Work on GTA 6 has started

The source also revealed that preliminary work has begun on Grand Theft Auto 6, but said a location had not yet been settled on.

“It’s not unusual that Rockstar would begin laying the early foundations for its next Grand Theft Auto so soon – It’s been more than two years since the initial release of GTA 5.
“This is an exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge architectures and high-performance systems for current and next-gen platforms,” it read, hinting that a new engine might be in the works. Even if Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t use it, there’s a very good chance that GTA 6 will.”
