After a series of leaks in 2017, Darksiders 3 trailer is here and the game is officially confirmed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Darksiders 3 release date is in 2018 with leaks showing a placeholder date of December 31, 2018. A female character named Fury is the lead character for Darksiders 3, news that’s sure to rustle some jimmies. To fans of the series, it’s no surprise to see Fury taking lead as they will recognize her from the first Darksiders.
The third installment in the Darksiders series, Darksiders 3 is published by THQ Nordic again. However, this time around Gunfire Games are taking the development reigns. Although, Gunfire Games does consist of a bunch of employees from Vigil Games who worked on the first 2 Darksiders games.
Meet Fury, the Darksiders 3 Lead Character
First introduced to us in Darksiders, Fury is ‘the most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen’. Fury along with Strife, replace Famine and Pestilence from the traditionally known story of the Four Horsemen. Straying from the usual weapon focused characters, Fury is a mage who utilizes magic and a whip to destroy enemies.
The Charred Council called upon Fury to destroy the embodiment of the Seven Deadly Sins and prove her strength. Notably, Fury will have access to multiple forms, weapons, abilities and traversal skills. Sticking to the good old Darksiders hack-n-slash action adventure style, Darksiders 3 will also keep the puzzles coming at you. Hopefully, in Darksiders 3 we see some more challenging and cryptic puzzles that really suck you in.
Darksiders 3 is set around the time period of Darksiders 2 and many fans are missing the original concept art for Fury. Admittedly, the character design for Fury definitely is reminiscent of other popular games like League of Legends and World of Warcraft. Looking at concept art and appearances of Fury in the first Darksiders it’s hard to not agree with fans. Fortunately, there’s plenty of time for character design changes and even for character cosmetic options to be added.
Darksiders 3 Seven Deadly Sins are introduced in stages
So far, we only know what one of the Seven Deadly Sins that Fury will fight looks like. Sloth is the first deadly sin and sits atop his lazy throne. Further, though a fan of idleness, Sloth has an army of minions to back him up and they even change his location. Speaking of which, Sloth’s lair is a hollowed-out subway which we’d love to see some concept art for!
Balance versus Chaos in this apocalyptic open world action adventure installment in the Darksiders series. Prepare to fight the seven deadly sins at the order of the Charred Council and wield the whip of Fury. Darksiders 3 is available for pre-order on Amazon for PS4, Xbox One, and PC with a release date in 2018. Additionally, check out the Darksiders 3 trailer, screenshots and concept art below.
