Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel DLC now available and it looks awesome!

The long-awaited first expansion for Dark Souls 3, Ashes of Ariandel, is now available. Giving players the opportunity to dive back into the notoriously difficult title and explore the new Painted world for themselves and more importantly, die over and over again!

The Ashes of Ariandel expansion comes with 2 completely new boss fights, unique spells to cast, new sets of armor and of course, weapons. There’s also a brand new online PvP arena to battle it out in online matches. This expansion is one of two DLCs planned for Dark Souls 3 and delivers plenty of new content to explore.

For those who’re already back into Dark Souls 3 and about to try out the Ashes of Ariandel DLC. Dark Souls 3, unfortunately, doesn’t make it immediately obvious as to how your suppose to activate the DLC so we’ll help guide you through it.

First, make sure you’re prepared enough to survive the challenging new areas, a level 75+ character is strongly recommended. Next, ensure you’ve defeated the Deacons of the Deep boss fight and received the Strange Doll item required.

Once you’ve obtained the Strange Doll, travel to the Cleansing Chapel bonfire where you’ll come across a new NPC waiting for you. Talking to the NPC will allow you to teleport to the new Painted World of Ariandel.

With this new DLC, Dark Souls 3 developers are also releasing a new balance patch. Aiming to improve and fix many of the ongoing issues players are currently experiencing to ensure the first expansion will provide them with a smooth and unforgettable experience.

What the future holds for the Dark Souls franchise as a whole is yet to be determined. Hidetaka Miyazaki has suggested that Dark Souls 3 will be a “closure” for the series overall, meaning that Dark Souls 3 could be the end of the series.

Dark Souls 3 is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Ashes of Ariandel DLC expansion is now available on all platforms.
