We’re all huge fans of the wildly successful game Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. There has been a lot of rumors lately of a remastered version that was expected to release later this year.

While this rumor has created a lot of hype for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remastered. There was no official word other than small hints indicating a Call Of Duty game. Actually, Activision did state that we’ll “Soon get this game for your Xbox One or PS4, looking sharper than it ever has been.”

Unexpectedly, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remastered was revealed by a PEGI rating. The Pan European Game Infomation board confirmed a certificate for the game.

The certificate rating however, only covers the remastered campaign of Modern Warfare 2. While it is highly unlikely Activision would release Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 with only the campaign. Multiplayer fans may face a campaign only version of the game. What is Call Of Duty without the famous various multiplayer maps though.

Secondly, the certificate listing for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is currently only for the PlayStation 4. So perhaps Sony players could get access to the Remastered version before Xbox players can get their hands on the game. A console-exclusive timed launch isn’t too far fetched though. With Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 post-launch content coming to PlayStation 4 first.

Could a standalone Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remastered without the multiplayer work? Excluding a major part of the game’s success in the remastered version – would surely be the downfall to it. Though we should wait for an official comment on this before commenting.
