Adding to that, new details from a possible leak and confirmation of an announcement about Assassin’s Creed Empire/Origins this month!

Assassin’s Creed Empire / Origins reveal date and trailer details

Kotaku has always been a good source for Assassin’s Creed leaks with many confirmed reputable leaks in the past. This time, Kotaku’s sources indicated, as we reported also, that the next Assassin’s Creed game would be named Assassin’s Creed Empire.

Given that, one would think there’d be some word from Kotaku about this latest Assassin’s Creed leak. But perhaps there’s silence on that front because behind the scenes it’s known that the Assassin’s Creed Origins reveal is happening either later this month (May) or at E3 2017 in June. It’s also possible that later this month we will see the official Assassin’s Creed Origins reveal and then at E3 see a trailer.

Assassin’s Creed Empire/ Origins leak details

The Assassin’s Creed Empire leak rumors this month come from a couple of sub-Reddits. Namely, the first leak came from the PS4 sub-Reddit and not only mentioned Far Cry 5 but the name change for Assassin’s Creed Empire and confirmation of an Egyptian setting. The Redditor Sirusavath claimed to work for a company that makes pre-order cards for department stores. It is here that Sirusavath saw pre-order cards for Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

An Assassin’s Creed Redditor named dirtminer6 moved the leak over to the Assassin’s Creed Reddit and backed up Sirusavath’s claims. In addition, dirtminer6 confirmed Ubisoft would announce the game during May. After dirtminer6 asked, Sirusavath gave more detailed information on what he saw of the Assassin’s Creed Origins pre-order card.

In the centre of the card there is the new assassin walking toward the city. It looked like he was carrying a shield, a bow, and he had a hawk of some sort on his shoulder. Last bit of note is the reservation is for the Gold edition of the game which has the base game, the season pass and comes in a steelbook packaging.

The second notable Assassin’s Creed Empire leak comes from website WWG whose “Ubisoft” sources say the reveal is at E3 2017 and confirm the name change to Origins. WWG’s Ubisoft sources detailed Assassin’s Creed Origins would feature:

  • massive open world starting in Ancient Egypt
  • two protagonists, a female, and a male
  • bigger emphasis on exploration
  • less linear storyline and character progression
  • naval combat and naval travel across the Mediterranean Sea
  • travel outside of ancient Egypt to places like Greece

Assassin’s Creed Origins Concept Art

Check out this great concept art for Assassin’s Creed in Egypt, possibly future game Assassin’s Creed Empire/Origins. Most noteworthy, the amazing artist named Evan Liu now works for Ubisoft as a concept artist. You can find more concept art that could feature in Assassin’s Creed Empire on the game’s wiki.

Update*: A screenshot from Assassin’s Creed Origins leaked this week and confirms the game will have naval features! According to Eurogamer, three of their sources have confirmed the screenshot of a boat is legit. Notably, the Assassin’s Creed Origins screenshot features a mission titled “Assassinate the Crocodile”. Additionally, the text underneath the mission states “Follow Shadya to Khenut’s village” confirming an Ancient Egyptian setting. Khenut was Queen of Egypt and wife to King (Pharaoh) Unas and lived during the fifth dynasty of Egypt which would take the timeline out a little further than we previously suspected.
